Ghouls are undead imps (demons). In Arabic folklore, they eat the corpses of the dead. In some tales, it is said that they can shape shift, usually into a hyena. In cases in which they do not have access to the dead, they will lure their victims out to the desert, the wastelands, or abandoned places. There they kill their prey before eating their flesh and drinking their blood. They have also been known to hoard gold coins, similar to dragons.

They are nocturnal creatures and are often seen as loners or self-serving, but the ghouls have nests with small family units. Their young stay with their family until they are old enough to go out on their own and start their own nests. Nests are often hidden in caverns made in the graveyards where they feed. There can be several nests to one cemetery.

Ghouls migrated from their native Middle East and can be found hanging out in graveyards in New Orleans.

The ghoul does not grant wishes like their djinn counterparts, nor do they serve anyone or thing outside of their nests. They are dangerous creatures with violent tempers and are often target practice for young Nephilim or Paranormal Hunters to hone their fighting skills. Necromancers collect the dead bodies as some ghoul organs are used in their rituals.

All ghouls are bald with pale, grayish-white skin and eyes. Their teeth are razor-sharp, both their ears and nose large and pointed. They are muscular and often hunchbacked, with long, sharp hardened fingernails and toenails that aid them in digging.
