When Cassie first predicted the future at the tender age of six, the village was convinced that she was a witch and tried to sacrifice her to appease the gods. Lucien Silvano, a Vampire King from Romania, stumbled across the scene, killed all in sight for daring to harm a child, and took Cassie. Cassie was raised in his castle in Romania, Întuneric, where she had a happy, albeit unusual, childhood. Under the shelter of one of the most powerful vampires in the world, Cassie flourished and was protected from other immortals who would attempt to kidnap her and do harm to her. Any who would use her power for their own gain. However, at the age of eighteen, Cassie left her dad based on a vision that told her she was needed in the new undiscovered land of the natives. Arriving there, she settled in the swamp of the area which would later become New Orleans. She’s been there ever since.

'''Immortality.''' She is technically immortal. Immune to the effects of aging, cannot die by any conventional means, and is immune to all known mortal diseases and infections. Oracles are notoriously hard to kill, the only known method is beheading.

As knowledge of the future invariably causes that future to change, visions of the future are subject to frequent shifting. When an Oracle sees a fixed event, their eyes become completely white, and their body freezes up causing a seizure. Name is Cassandra Silvano, also known as Cassie, Blondie, the Norn, the Ma’at, the Oracle of Delphi, crazy bitch, and 2021 Button Hurling Olympic Gold Medalist. I’ve called New Orleans my home for the last five thousand years. When the Source first cracked in 1812, I felt the ground rumble, the very magic that once coursed across the world, sucked dry to protect the city from the bigger battle that took place at the same time. Their magic, the Witches, Warlocks, and more, and ties to the Source sucked them dry, their bodies dropping one by one as their hearts gave out, pushed past all limits to protect this city. For a while, only a trickle of magic fed the rest of the world, the Source itself blocked and flowing in different directions.

That was until a couple weeks ago. The Source is awakening, and I don’t know why. I’m blind to the future of our fair city, blocked by someone with far more power than should be possible.

So many pieces need to be moved, so many creatures in play, the millions of chessboards in my mind all poised to take the king.
